Yeah, seems to me that LHR is getting overwhelmed by service calls so much that they will start charging $25 for each service ticket they open for you after your warranty runs out. Or you have to pay them $125/yr to avoid the $25 per ticket... To me that means they expect each machine to generate an average of 5 service calls per year??? Isn't that telling you the machine is going to break once every 10 weeks?

I'm at a loss for words Shocked

We have gotten used to the old "something for nothing". Every company that you call for customer service is going to bill you after your warranty has run out: your computer, your printer, your digital camera, try to take your car in for repair after warranty and see what it costs you. The difference with the folks at CarveWright is the fact that they have given some added value to the package.

"The CarversClub is an exclusive club for CarveWright and CompuCarve owners. With the annual membership fee, club members will receive exclusive promotions every month of the year, as well as FREE phone support and 25% OFF all labor costs for repairs. The monthly exclusive sales include: discounts on software features and accessories, discounts on new hardware upgrades, free patterns and projects, and much more. Every month a new special!"

with all due respect, paying over $2000 for a hobby machine entitles me to get a machine that doesn't carry obvious defects which I will have to pay just to call to have someone tell me I have to pay more to fix it.

Anyway, the point is lost on me, as I will abandon this machine as soon as my CNC router is completed. I won't bother to comment on further LHR's decisions, as it is useless to do so. I just wonder if LHR's will ever make public the reasons why they are coming out with a new chuck? No, wait, I know the answer to that one too.
